It was assigned reading in my college communications class. I couldn't understand why my professor wanted us to read a sci-fi novel. Then I started to read it and realized that the point of the book (for me, anyway) is that whoever has the most information, wins. Whoever can disseminate information most effectively, wins. Whoever can manipulate the information the best, wins. It explains a lot of what is happening in the world today.
I have mine, too. Interestingly, I also read it for a class, which was a science fiction course. I think I still have all the books we read for it. I expanded my sci-fi reading a lot through it.
