An Update

It would appear (knock wood) that I traveled during the "sweet spot;" there was no Covid-19 in the Virgin Islands while I was there (there is now) and it would seem like my housemates and I (so far) are uninfected.  Since returning home in the wee hours of March 13th, I've ventured out exactly four times: Twice to the supermarket, once to Office Max and once to pickup food.  All four trips totalled approximately 4 hours tops.  Otherwise, I have stayed in the house.

I'm sure some people are so bored by now, they don't know what to do.  I still can't get to everything I want to do.  Don't ask me where my days go, they just go.  I haven't worked on one story, completed (or started) one language lesson, finished assembling my papers to send to my accountant to get my taxes done or organized my guest bedroom which is currently masquerading as an attic.

What have I been doing?  Watching TV, reading online, hanging out online, speaking with friends on the phone and online, cooking, and playing with my cats.  Weirdly, these activities take all day.  I'm not bored; I learned many years ago to enjoy my own company.

I think this Wednesday morning I'm going to take advantage of my local supermarkets "senior citizen" hour and do some food shopping.  I'm not sure why exactly, but the fresh seafood and meat department are closed.  I don't need much; some milk, heavy cream, half & half, cheese, wine...You know, the basics.

Stay safe out there!

Honestly, I am far from bored. I didn't have much to do at work during this time, so it's nice to be at home and able to fill the hours that way. TBG is a going a bit stir crazy, but he's doing okay, too. And wine is always a basic!

On my Facebook page I posted a meme that says "PSA Announcement: There is a DUI checkpoint at the corner of Hallway and Kitchen."

It's only a matter of time for that here.

Like you, I am basically self contained (though I do work for a living still, so that eats up some time each day). This is heaven for me.

I just learned Von's delivers to my area. I was not looking forward to going out for fresh fruits/veg but as of today they are in my greedy hands, thanks to delivery services.

I may never leave my house/yard again!

I know what you mean! I haven't tried grocery delivery because this is my chance to get fresh air.

I think creative people will always manage to fill our days. I'm quite content to spend more time on art projects, that tends to make time irrelevant.
Hopefully we're out of this situation sooner than later, and as the days heat up we have hope of burning up the little buggers. Since they came from hell it's time to send them back!
Continue to be wise, it serves all of us well to do so.
