For #8, I'd put 8a: when your favourite pairing is shown to be so good, and yet people ignore it for strangely more popular pairings. (This especially in some non-UNCLE fandoms.)
Ooh, number 1 (when people ask you what you're reading and you can't think of anything except fanfiction) happened to me just today! And even though I DO read books that aren't fanfic, at the moment they're all sort of fic-related too, because I'm reading a book about life in the Soviet Union, and another about the Cold War...
