I Am So Angry, Sad and Frustrated

I don't want Black people killed by police for a broken tail light, for selling CDs, asking for help, or for walking away or toward officers.

I don't want police gunned down in the street by snipers while doing their job.

I don't want children shot and killed because they went to school on the wrong day.

I don't want any of this.

No, no right thinking person wants any of that--this has been a heartbreaking week. And we're the majority; we have to find a way to make this country be safe and fair for everyone. A better justice system, a ban on assault weapons--a ban on guns as far as I'm concerned, a better police force.

So many of us agree on that, but we're still so fragmented it's discouraging. One thing I know is that we can't put a racist demagogue in the White House and I'm sure going to do all I can to see that he's not elected.

When will people learn that guns are bad? Our forefathers wrote that whole "right to bear arms" legislation when people needed to hunt for meat and defend themselves against predators. Now the predators are other people. Why can't we have legislation that takes assault weapons away from individuals? Is that too much to ask, Hilary?

I'm going to volunteer for some GOTV outreach here. I'm in NY so she'll take the state easily, but some of the down ticket candidates need help. We need a Congress that's not intimidated by the NRA--this has really gone too far.
